Amber is a passionate artist dedicated to sharing her experiences and advocating for change through her artwork. From a young age, she demonstrated a keen interest in creative expression, embarking on a journey that has seen her evolve into a respected figure in the art community.

Her artistic endeavors began with early art classes, igniting a lifelong commitment to honing her craft. Throughout her formative years in junior high and high school, Amber distinguished herself in numerous honors and AP art courses, laying the foundation for her artistic expression.

Amber's commitment to raising awareness and fostering understanding has led her to participate in various art shows, including the Youth Art Recovery and Resiliency Art Show, the MOVE Art Show, the Utah Department of Human Services Mental Health Awareness Art Show, and the NAMI Regional Conference. These platforms have provided her with opportunities to showcase her work and contribute to meaningful dialogues surrounding mental health and self-expression.

Drawing from her own experiences, Amber views art as more than just a creative outlet—it's a lifeline during challenging times. Her art serves as a powerful medium through which she shares her journey, challenges stigma, and advocates for those who may be struggling silently.

In her professional capacity, Amber has made significant contributions to organizations such as NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and Mental Health America, where she has worked to support youth in systems of care and enhance mental health education. Her dedication to improving resources for individuals facing mental health challenges is reflected in her involvement with the development of the NAMI Progressions curriculum, where her drawings enrich the educational experience.

Currently based in Hawaii, Amber continues to be actively involved in community initiatives, serving as the NAMI Maui Affiliate leader and contributing to the NAMI Hawaii State Board of Directors. Her commitment to mental health advocacy extends to her role as a nationally certified Youth Mental Health First Aid instructor and educator on youth suicide and bullying prevention.

Amber's academic journey started with a BA in Psychology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and continues as she pursues a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. With a vision to integrate art therapy into her future practice, she remains dedicated to exploring innovative approaches to mental health care.

In addition to her professional pursuits, Amber has authored two coloring books, offering a unique opportunity for individuals to engage with her artistry on a personal level. Her coloring books are available for purchase through her Etsy store, accessible via the homepage of this website.
